Ms. Jaclyn M. Fontecchio

Ms. Jaclyn Fontecchio serves as the Deputy Director of the Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center. The organization provides the Army with innovative science and technology (S&T) solutions to optimize the performance and effectiveness of Soldiers.
Ms. Fontecchio is responsible for the management and execution of business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic business and operations planning across the organization. She is responsible for all administrative actions across the execution directorates and staff.
Ms. Fontecchio entered civil service in 2002 as an aerospace engineer in the Aerial Delivery S&T area where she spent several years developing and transitioning cargo delivery and mission planning tools to Army and Air Force partners. She was part of the 2007 Advanced Concepts Technology Demonstration (ACTD) Team of the Year for her work on the Joint Precision Aerial Delivery System ACTD.
Ms. Fontecchio participated in the Office of Congressional Legislative Liaison’s Army Congressional Orientation Program during FY 2009. She acted as a Military Legislative Assistant in the congressional office representing the 29th District of NY where she gained firsthand experience with the legislative process and how the Department of Defense and Congress work together to meet national defense objectives.
Ms. Fontecchio led Technology Enabled Capability Demonstration for Force Protection of the Soldier and Small Unit from 2014-2017. This RDT&E program integrated S&T projects across multiple disciplines to demonstrate improved protection, mobility, lethality, and situational awareness. Ms. Fontecchio earned a Commander’s Award for Civilian Service for her work leading the program.
Ms. Fontecchio has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Management. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and three children.
