DEVCOM Analysis Center

DAC

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Analysis Center, headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the Army’s largest in-house analytical capability.

The DEVCOM Analysis Center is one of eight science and technology domains within the command, and has the mission to deliver objective analysis, experimentation and data across the entire life cycle to ensure readiness today and a more lethal future force tomorrow.

As part of Army Futures Command, the center provides the analytical underpinnings to inform Modernization decisions, while its lifecycle perspective enables it to also focus on near term Readiness and Operational Tools for the Warfighter.

The DAC’s highly educated workforce has more than 700 employees; 64 percent have at least one master’s degree; 31 percent have a bachelor’s degree; and 5 percent have doctorates. The DAC consists of scientists, engineers, operations research/systems analysts, mathematicians and data scientists that are located in 21 locations across 18 states.

The center provides agile, timely and integrated analytical products for item/system level performance and effectiveness, vulnerability/lethality, and human systems integration, enabling Army Futures Command to conduct streamlined decision processes that are underpinned by sound evidence-based analysis.

The DAC has a vast array of capabilities, including integrated analysis from concept to fielding, cyber and electronic warfare vulnerability and resiliency, kinetic lethality and vulnerability, authoritative models and data for modernization decisions, Soldier-centered performance design impacts and weaponeering tools for multi-domain operations.

The DEVCOM Analysis Center was established on Feb. 3, 2019, bringing together three separately existing organizations– the U.S. Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity, the Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate, and the Army Research Laboratory’s Human Systems Integration division. Aligned as one organization, the center serves as the Army’s authoritative source of integrated analytical solutions for the Soldier and Future Force Modernization Enterprise (FFME) to ensure the Army decisively defeats any adversary, anytime, anywhere.
